- Florida is one of the top states in the U.S. for new HIV cases.
- In 2023, about 4,700 new diagnoses were made.
- Experts estimate there are still thousands living with HIV who don’t know it yet.

Different Communities, Different Numbers
Black/African American Floridians: make up about 14% of the state’s population but represent over 45% of new HIV diagnoses.
Latino/Hispanic communities: about 30% of the population, and represent 1 in 4 new cases.
White Floridians: about 50% of the population, and represent around 25% of new diagnoses.
⚡ These numbers don’t mean blame — they show where resources and awareness need to grow most.
STIs Are on the Rise Too
- Chlamydia: 100,000+ cases in Florida last year.
- Gonorrhea: 45,000+ cases.
- Syphilis: over 4,000 cases, and it’s been increasing in young adults.
😳 Many of these STIs have no symptoms at first, which is why regular testing matters.
